Les Adrets de l’Estérel
The village of Adrets-de-l’Estérel is a commune located in the Var in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region. The village is at the extreme south-east of the Var, bordering with the Alpes-Maritimes, mainly Mandelieu-la-Napoule about 10km. An ideal location between sea and mountains. Overlooking the bay of Cannes, it offers a panorama of the islands of Lérins (Sainte-Marguerite and Saint-Honorat), as well as on the ledge of Mont Vinaigre.
Well served, the village has two entrances through the National 7 and an entrance by the A8 motorway, it is easy to discover the surroundings. Indeed, its proximity allows to be at the edge of the Mediterranean Sea quickly. The nearest beach is in Mandelieu-la-Napoule, a neighboring town of Cannes. The village is also very close to Lake St. Cassien, part of which is on the town, and hilltop villages in the Pays de Fayence.
15 km from the village is Frejus. A city, twinned with Saint-Raphaël, essential because of its Roman history, its tourist attraction and its ideal situation which makes it a cradle of the Var. Formerly a strategic location for its market and its Roman military bases, Forum Julii (Jules’ market) today Fréjus, perpetuates these traditions with modernity.
Notre Dame des Maures
The church of Adrets-de-l’Estérel was built in 1648. The first version was a small chapel without window, mainly built in blockage and rock materials exploited on the spot. It was enlarged in 1772 and renovated in 1995. Today it retains a rustic aspect with massive buttresses.
Saint-Cassien Lake
Covering an area of 420 hectares, Lake Saint-Cassien covers 4 communes: Tanneron, Montauroux, Callian and Les Adrets de l’Estérel. It is the highest point of the Massif de l’Estérel, it rises to 614m and offers a 360-degree panoramic view of the seaside and surrounding towns. One of the most beautiful views of the Var region. A hiking start to access is at the intersection of the Logis de Paris at the entrance of the Village des Adrets-de-l’Esterel (GR49 and GR51).
